Lunch time was approaching, but first we had to make a decision.

We knew that after we had eaten, we might not feel like riding the Forbidden Journey again lest we got sick. So we decided to head back that way once more.

We made our way toward the single rider line stopping to take a few pictures with the castle along the way.

The single rider line, while definitely shorter, wasn’t the immediate-entrance ticket that it usually ends up being on most Disney attractions. We breezed through the line right up until the portion where the Sorting Hat is in sight. Then we hit the backed-up portion of the line. It took us a solid half-hour to get through that last hundred or so feet of the queue. It seemed like every group in the standby line seemed to work out perfectly to the number of people needed to fill each vehicle. As a result, sometimes ten or more vehicles would go by without anyone from the single rider line making it on. When we did finally make it to the front, Tracy and I were split up (as we knew would happen) and both went on one more ride through Hogwarts. It was as enjoyable as always, though it’s always more fun to ride with a companion.

After exiting once more into the village, we took a couple more pictures with Hogwarts in the background. There are just so many angles to try to capture!

By now, our stomachs really were getting the better of us, so we walked back to The Three Broomsticks. The line to order was much longer than it had been earlier in the morning, but it was NOTHING compared to the hour we had waited on our visit two years prior. We enjoyed more of the details inside the restaurant.

Then we got to the display case featuring all the meal options and tried to make our decision.

They had certainly expanded the menu since our last trip. Back then, I think there were only four menu options. Tracy really wanted the Fish and Chips, but since I’m allergic to some fish, I basically didn’t want to take a chance even though I knew I would almost certainly be fine. I offered for Tracy to still get that and I would get something else, but she didn’t think she needed that much food. In the end, she decided to forgo her fish and chips for now on the condition that she could get fish and chips somewhere sometime in the near future. She still hasn’t gotten them, and I think we need to remedy that ASAP. What we got instead, to split, was a turkey leg.

Theme park turkey legs have to be one of the most ridiculous foods on this planet. Someday I would like to see one of the giant turkeys whose leg is the size of my forearm just to prove that they exist. I also want to know what happens to the rest of the turkey. These legs are sold by the thousands every day in theme parks across America, but you never see a giant turkey wing or turkey breast being sold. What happens to those parts? I probably don’t actually want to know/see the answers to any of my questions above, but I’m still intrigued…

Anyway, the turkey leg was delicious (if a bit disgusting). We had gotten one once at Hollywood Studios and this one was pretty similar. It was extremely filling, even split between the two of us. And, of course, I looked very attractive eating it.

After lunch, we went back toward here.

No, we weren’t going for yet another ride (it probably wouldn’t have been a good idea right after that lunch). We were finally going shopping.

The number of things we wanted from Filch’s Emporium were endless. Here are a few.

In the end, we weren’t very exciting at all and walked out of the store buying nothing. We had, however, finally made our decisions on what to buy. We went back to the cart where we had bought our Hedwig pin, and Tracy got this keychain.

Next, we went back to the Owl Post shop/Dervish and Banges.

We got ourselves a postcard and got it stamped with the Hogwarts postmark.

We also found and loved this picture frame. After buying it, we knew we would need to pose for the perfect horizontal picture to put in it.

We had basically done all we wanted to in the Wizarding World, so we called and set up our Mears return shuttle to Disney property. They require two hours’ notice, so we knew we’d still have some time to kick around Hogsmeade and make sure we’d gotten the full experience.

It was just starting to look like rain overhead. If you haven’t noticed, we had had REMARKABLE luck with the weather so far on this trip. We’d barely had a cloud in the sky, let alone any precipitation, but the perfect weather couldn’t hold out forever. We decided to grab ourselves another Butterbeer as we prepared for the oncoming storm.
